Meet Abi

Founder of Healing Field Studio

I'm Abigail, founder of Healing Field Studio — a qualified energy healing practitioner, empath and intuitive. I am trained in both level 2 Jikiden Reiki and the Zdenko Domancic Bioenergy Method, and am currently furthering my training with Charlie Goldsmith, one of the world's best known healers.

All sessions are currently offered as distance healing — and in my experience, the results are often just as strong, if not stronger, than in-person work. Of course, working with the distance healing method means I can work with you — wherever you are in the world. It's a genuine pleasure to be able to help. You can read about some of the changes clients have experienced on our testimonials page.

My own journey through chronic illness and recovery was the catalyst for everything. Living through that experience gave me a profound and personal understanding of what it means to feel unwell — and what it means to find your way back.

My healing journey

Finding my way back

Before becoming ill, I led a highly active life — rowing, running and skiing were a regular part of it. Following sixteen months of stressful life events and mounting exhaustion, I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome in February 2009. My doctor advised the only thing she could offer me was antidepressants, which I knew I didn't need and declined. Years of debilitating pain and unrelenting exhaustion followed, including many months when I was bedridden. Some days, I could wash my hair or retrieve something from the car — but not both.

Complementary therapy, breathwork and meditation supported my gradual recovery. By early 2016, I felt I had finally recovered from CFS. Then, in September that year, came a life-threatening bowel emergency. Talking to multiple consultants afterwards, I was repeatedly told how lucky I was to be alive — had the sixteen hours from my arrival at hospital to my operation been twenty minutes longer, I might well not have survived.

Perimenopause brought further challenges, and a follow-up test showed a calprotectin reading of around 250 — above which could be indicative of cancerous cells. My gastroenterologist advised no action was needed, but I wanted to understand what I could do to support my own health. Following a microbiome test, I made substantial dietary changes, worked on reducing stress and began healing sessions with John McGrath. Over the following months, my reading fell by 215 points to 35 — now considered normal and healthy.

Having lived with years of pain, I know how much even a few hours of relief can mean. It is what motivates me: the hope of helping ease another person's suffering, whether physical or emotional.

My spiritual journey

Learning to trust what I feel

I grew up highly sensitive — and quickly learned that wasn't always welcome. By my late teens I had found a way to cope: turning feelings into logic, explaining my emotions rather than experiencing them. It worked, up to a point.

My CFS diagnosis in 2009 changed everything. Illness forced me to look under every metaphorical stone — mentally, physically, spiritually — and began a profound journey of self-discovery. Around 2015–2016 that became a full awakening. My first attempt at meditation using Eckhart Tolle's method produced such overwhelming energy and lightness that I felt I might lift off the bed. There was an undeniable sense of something extraordinary. I continued reading and exploring, and after witnessing three beautiful light orbs in my bedroom in 2016, my curiosity deepened further.

One particularly striking moment occurred on a train into London. The energy of so many people — many anxious, depressed, in pain — was deeply overwhelming. When protective visualisations brought no relief, I followed an instinct to imagine universal love and light flowing down through the top of my head, into my heart, and out into the carriage with the intention to comfort those around me. Within minutes, I sensed a distinct shift in the atmosphere. For me, this marked a turning point in how I worked with my sensitivity.

Two days after my level two Reiki course, I offered to help my partner with his ongoing foot pain — for the first time, trying, and honestly expecting nothing. After twenty minutes, the pain had completely gone. I was amazed. And hooked.

Healing energy work in a serene setting

My background

Care, discretion and attention to detail

Alongside my healing practice, I spent many years building a highly respected and successful business in hospitality — working with some of London and the UK's most iconic addresses: Claridge's, Cliveden House, The Ritz, The Dorchester, The Waterside Inn at Bray, to mention just a few — where the standard of care is simply non-negotiable.

I believe that how you hold a space matters just as much as what happens within it. Every client deserves to feel safe, respected and genuinely cared for — and that is something I take seriously.
