How it works
Understanding Reiki
Jikiden Reiki delivered remotely — here is everything you need to know before you reach out.
Jikiden Reiki
What is Jikiden Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese healing practice that works with the body's own energy field to support balance, calm the nervous system, and encourage the body's natural ability to heal. The word Reiki translates roughly as 'universal life energy'.
Jikiden Reiki is the original, unwesternised form of Reiki — taught directly from the lineage of its founder, Mikao Usui. It is precise, gentle, and deeply effective. Abi holds a Jikiden Reiki level 2 qualification and is a 7th generation practitioner, which includes the ability to work at a distance.
Distance healing works because energy is not bound by physical proximity. Abi connects with your energy field remotely, working in exactly the same way as an in-person session — you simply rest at home.
What can Reiki help with?
Reiki supports the whole person — body, mind, and spirit. It is not a replacement for medical care, but many people find it a powerful complement to it. Conditions and experiences it commonly supports include:
- Stress, anxiety, and overwhelm
- Chronic fatigue and low energy
- Sleep difficulties and insomnia
- Chronic pain and physical tension
- Emotional processing — grief, trauma, life transitions
- Digestive issues and gut health
- Hormonal imbalance and perimenopause
- Recovery after illness, surgery, or medical treatment
- A general sense of being 'stuck' or out of balance
What to expect from a session
Your session reminder
Abi will send you a text 15 minutes before your session begins. Please reply to confirm you are ready to start at your agreed time.
The session itself
Sessions last between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on how quickly the energy is working. You simply rest — ideally somewhere quiet where you will be completely undisturbed for the duration of the treatment. Feet up, however you feel most comfortable. No call or Zoom needed. Abi works in silence so she can focus fully on you. Voicenotes are also possible if you prefer.
After your session
Abi will send you a text when the session is complete. You are welcome to share anything you noticed — how you felt during or afterwards.
How many sessions?
We suggest a minimum of 3 sessions, often 5 or 6 depending on the condition. These can be scheduled once or twice a week, at whatever pace suits you.
Ready when you are
What happens next
Once you have been in touch and are happy to go ahead, Abi will send you a short medical questionnaire — it takes no more than 2 to 3 minutes to complete. After that, we get your dates in the diary.
Get in touch
Send Abi a message via the contact page, call or text on 07906 829405, or email [email protected]. There is no obligation — if you simply want to ask a question first, that is absolutely fine.
Short questionnaire
Once you are happy to go ahead, Abi will send a short medical questionnaire. It takes 2 to 3 minutes to complete and helps Abi understand your situation before your first session.
Dates in the diary
Once the questionnaire is returned, Abi will confirm your session dates. For Reiki, you can space sessions once or twice a week, at whatever pace suits you.
Ready to take the next step?
